Love Is a Mix Tape

I got 50 pages in and bailed. I liked some things about it, but two thirds of the pop culture references are lost on me, and the speaker's lively, but it reads like a cliche. It reminds me of a zine but a zine I've already read a few times. Sorry.

eta: It kind of reminded me of The Smiths' Meat Is Murder by Joseph T. Pernice but I preferred the Pernice.
