confusing

We were at Costco and I was in the car waiting for Ming.  It was hot.  "If I had been a dog, you would have gone to jail," I told Ming.  But I'm an adult human and should have left the car of my own free will.  Free Willy.

"Isn't that a whale movie with Michael Jackson?" I asked.

I googled it and found it was a whale movie, but I think Michael Jackson just sang the theme song.
