some large chain Mexican place

The backside of an envelope I made today from an ad. I think the rice looks very not-Mexican. And the guacamole is strange in its little roundness, like it was scooped with an ice-cream scoop. Other than the meat, the rest looks appealing.

This is a pretty authentic plate of mexican food. The rice is found in the Northern region of the area. It contains bits of carrots and chayote (a type of squash)The mexican rice you are thinking of is a spanish style similar to Pallea but without the saffron. Please don't think that the food that you are served in almost all restaurants is truely authentic.

I'm familiar with chayote, and I don't know how you can be sure it's in this rice. The Mexican rice I am thinking of is the Mexican rice my Mexican mother makes--I don't know why you believe that you know what I'm thinking. I don't think that the food I'm served in almost all restaurants in truly authentic. I actually don't go to many Mexican restaurants, and I have never been to the restaurant that this ad is from (El Torrito).
