beginning to sprout
I found a very easy and pretty clear explanation of how to sprout here at this cyclist's website.

I have some mung beans. I bought cheesecloth at the dollar store the other day. So we put a fourth a cup of mung beans in a glass jar, covered them with water with a couple inches extra, and secured some cheesecloth over the top with a rubber band.
So we need to rinse, drain, rinse, rinse, drain until they look like tasty sprouts. There's a chance my beans might be heat treated and won't sprout. We'll see.
If this works out, we can try sprouting quinoa.
