saga of BOB

Trouble with BOB.  It was not starting.  It would click.  Parents advised it was a battery connection problem, but we took it to a battery place, and they said the connections were fine.  So we took it to a mechanic who lives within walking distance to us (we don't have a mechanic we always go to--we haven't found a good, close mechanic) and he said he'd call by noon.  He called at 5:15 and said it was the starter and they'd put on a new one by this afternoon.

So hundreds of dollars lighter, we have a falling apart BOB who we need to sell, but we will get so little for it, we won't be able to afford another car, so I don't know what to do.
