vehicular angst

Today we brought the car to a mechanic to get an oil change and smog. I'm waiting for a phone call. I'm nervous it won't pass.

Meanwhile, the truck is running rough. We drove it around this afternoon. We took it to the library, where I got a bunch of CDs and a couple books. I started reading I Was Told There'd Be Cake by Sloane Crosley. It's funny. And I'm listening to some rare 10,000 Maniacs tracks off Campfire Songs.

Nothing makes me nervous quite like waiting for a mechanic to call. And the fact that we have to take the truck there to pick it up amplifies my fear.
