vernal pools

This afternoon we visited some vernal pools out in Mather. We had a guide and paid $5 each. We saw some cute little flowers. We liked the mimulus tri-color best. I saw two snakes. One was small and slithered on top of the grass in a panicked way. One was very big and slithered through the grass. Home again, we did a tick check. No ticks.
