green garlic
Today I sent Ming to pick collards in the backyard as a dinner ingredient. He came back in with an onion, saying the onion was in his way. But then he washed and trimmed it, and it wasn't an onion--it was garlic!
So I chopped up the whole head for inclusion in our dinner. "Are we going to smell like garlic for days?" I asked Ming. We decided that would be okay.
But it doesn't seem to be happening. But it's great in the burritos to get a big chunk of mild, crunchy garlic.
