uncertainty

It's fun to update everyone about my novel when I'm on track, but it becomes less fun when I'm not.  I didn't write for two days.  So I got more than 3000 words behind.  Will I catch up?  Tune in next time.

Meanwhile, it's Thanksgiving here in the United States.  My parents are making a feast complete with vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, and pies.  The turkey is about to come out of the oven.  The little thing that pops out has popped out.

yikes

I'm afraid I'm losing my fans with this terrible silence.  Will you be patient with me as I work on my novel?  I'll be back in December!

thank you

I wanted to find some public way to thank Ming for becoming a mechanic and fixing the brakes and packing the wheel bearings on our truck, and facebook gave me the creeps, so I'm thanking Ming here on my blog.  I am so impressed at your skills and willingness and perseverance.  Thank you, loved one!

yet another update

My novel is about my everyday existence, so I guess my blog can be about my novel.  I'm 18,159 words in today.  It's consuming my life, which is great.  My life could use some consuming.  It feels great.  I feel like, "Why don't I write a novel every month?"  But I know rationally that that might not be a good idea.

Thanks for your cheers of encouragement, friends and family!  It's very helpful to have your love and support.

some plant pics for you

Here's yummy backyard chard.

Here's Ming's beautiful sleeping pumpkin.

Here's our neighbor J's super cool bamboo bike cart.

And those are my favorite three photos from today's chrysanthemum show.

NaNoWriMo

I'm doing National Novel Writing Month.  So if my writing here is slim, that's why.  I'm on track so far for a 50,000 word novel.  But it's only day two... Wish me luck!
